Terms of use

Using the tools

PDF4U is free to use for personal and business purposes, with no account. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Your files and your responsibility

Your files are processed on your own device and remain yours; we don’t receive them and claim no rights to them. Only process files you have the right to use. The unlock tool removes a password only when you already know it; it is not a tool for getting into documents that belong to someone else.

Signatures

The sign tool adds an image of your signature to a PDF (a simple electronic signature). It is not a certificate-based digital signature. Whether it is accepted for a particular document depends on the law of your country and on the recipient; you are responsible for checking this.

No warranty

The tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Results depend on your files, your device and your browser. Always keep a copy of your original files and check the result before you rely on it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the site.

Acceptable use

Don’t try to disrupt the site, overload it, copy it automatically on a large scale or use it for anything illegal.

Advertising

The site may show ads to stay free. Ads are provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for the products or services they promote. See the privacy policy for how ads use data.

Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove tools, and update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
